Katy Perry Teenage Dream Makeup

Katy Perry Teenage Dream Makeup

This look is fairly easy and can be worn formally or casually, depending on your preference. If you want to change the colors or anything else, feel free too! The beauty of makeup is that you don’t have to conform to the rules.

You will need: NYC Retro Red Lipstick, NYC Smooch Proof Long Wearing Lip Color in Rebel (483A) , a good clear lip gloss (if you don’t want to use the gloss that comes with the lip color), coral eyeshadow, powder highlighter, liquid eyeliner in black, and grey eyeliner.

Lips: Apply Retro Red or similar lip stick with a lip brush. It shouldn’t be nearly as intense as it is in the tube for this look. Take the Rebel lip color and layer over top. Let dry. You should have a nice pink very similar to the one Katy is wearing. Next, take the clear lip gloss and layer on top for shimmer.

Eyes: Use coral eyeshadow only on top lid. You can use a skin colored neutral above that, but make sure the coral only goes to the crease and no further. Apply a thick line of eyeliner on your top lid, a little over 1/8th of an inch thick. Wing it out, but instead of going horizontally, go at an 45 degree angle upwards. Use pictures if needed.

Face: Do your foundation how you do it normally. You may want to add a LITTLE contouring and bronzer, but make sure that you don’t look orange. Then, take your highlight powder and use it in a U-shape under the eyes. Feel for your cheek bone to use as a guide. Then blend. You may want to take the side closest to your nose downwards a little bit, but not until you touch your nose. Use a skin tone powder over top to take away a little bit of the glow, but not all of it. Afterwards, stick on a pair of large Hollywood style glasses and go out on the town!

Makeup For Teenagers 2010 Tips

Makeup For Teenagers 2010 Tips

Women have been using makeup for years to make themselves more attractive. These days, teenagers also wish to enhance their features through this process. If you are thinking about starting up your makeup collection then there are a number of things you should keep in mind.

Maintaining healthy skin

In most cases the way your makeup turns out will depend on how healthy your skin is. If it is dry and damaged then your makeup will appear flaky. If it is too oily then the makeup won’t take as well. Further than that, makeup itself can sometimes like its toll on your skin, even more so than for adults. Have a good routine in place where you cleanse, tone and moisturize. Drink lots of water and protect your skin form the sun.

Coverage

Coverage is usually the biggest makeup issue that comes up for teens. This is simply because they tend to have acne or scars thereof. There are a number of things that you can use to cover it up, and this includes foundation, powder and concealer. Remember to always buy the ones that are made from more natural ingredients so they don’t end up irritating your skin.

Eye makeup and lipstick

When it comes to eye makeup and lipstick you want to start simple and then work your way towards more glam looks. With lipstick get a color that is close to the color of your lips. For eyes, eyeliner is a good place to start and is easy to apply. If you want to use eye shadow try and get the more natural colors to suit your skin tone, like pinks, beiges and browns. Mascara makes your lashes appear long and beautiful, but it can be a mission to apply. Always make sure you buy the right mascara for your length and thickness of lashes.

EYE SHADOW TIP FOR WOMEN OF COLOR

Ciara Eye Shadow

EYE SHADOW TIP FOR WOMEN OF COLOR

As women of color, it can be hard to find eye shadows that work well with your skin tone as well as applying it correctly so that it looks tasteful and still natural. The truth is, however, that applying eye shadow as women of color can be much more fun and versatile than it can for Caucasian women. The right know-how and a little creativity can go a long way.

First, find out what colors look best on your skin tone. Very dark African Americans can work with just about any color under the sun and make it look good, for example. Oriental women from all nations can always do well with raisin or plum colors, as well as literally all blacks and browns. Native American skin works well with golds, silvers, and metallic hues.

After choosing a color, playing around and experimenting with your eye shadow can be one of the most rewarding experiences available to women of color in their eye makeup. Colors like vibrant bold blue and yellow that only a select few Caucasian women can pull off look fantastic on black women, while dark browns that would clash against fairer skin look great on Asian women. Try doing it – buy a few very good eye shadow brushes and several colors you think may work well with your eyes and skin tone, and just spend a while with a friend applying, removing and reapplying until you see what does and doesn’t work for you. We’re all different, but the fun we have applying and working our makeup doesn’t have to be.

KELLY ROWLAND MAKEUP, HAIR, FASHION STYLE

KELLY ROWLAND MAKEUP, HAIR, FASHION STYLE

As one of the founding members of the R&B group “Destiny’s Child” Kelly Rowland proved once again that she knows how to wow the crowd. The young multi-talented artist hosted a lively gather at the TAO Nightclub in Las Vegas on July 23rd to celebrate her Number 1 worldwide hit “When Love Takes Over.”

Kelly Rowland

Not one to be called shy or conservative, Kelly Rowland appeared on the scene wearing a fuchsia short set with a draped front and fitted waist which contrasted beautifully with her skin tone. She has worn her hair at a longer length than many celebrities and keeps her jet-black tresses in fabulous condition with a precise layer cut, using large loose curls fully brushed out to create volume and height at the crown. She wears a full fringe bang that falls gracefully over one eye and completes an ideal framing of her great facial features with tons of shining, healthy hair that looks absolutely wonderful on her.

Kelly Rowland used a mauve palette to compliment her wardrobe choice, using a deep, sensual shade for her lips and a softer tone for her cheekbones and eye shadow. Lush lashes were the order of the day with mascara and eyeliner used to enhance her eyes. All together this dare-to-be-different look worked like a charm. Her silver mesh platform pumps added just the right subtle note to balance the intense color of her clothing that made a sexy fashion statement that added to the glamour of the event.

CONCEALING FLAWS, LATEST MAKEUP TIPS 2010

CONCEALING FLAWS, LATEST MAKEUP TIPS 2010

Acne can be a stressful and unpleasant ordeal for many teenagers and young adults to go through. However, for most people, acne is largely inevitable. Luckily, there are ways to hide those unsightly blemishes so that you can look and feel confident all day long!

First, you may want to visit a local make-up counter and ask the clerk to help you find the perfect shade of foundation for your skin tone. Afterwards, she can help show you the perfect ways of applying the specific formula chosen for you. With a liquid formula, you will usually apply a small amount of it directly to the blemished area. It is important to choose a formula that is oil free and made for sensitive skin. Believe me; it is worth it to pay a few more dollars for a high quality foundation. Cheaply made foundations can cause you to break out even more, which will make your situation much worse!

After applying the formula to your blemishes, you will then spread a thin amount of the foundation across your entire face. This will allow the concealed areas to blend in nicely, and suddenly, you will notice your blemishes have vanished! After applying foundation, you will probably want to use some blush or warming formula in order to restore a bit more color to your face.
