DINNER, GALA MAKEUP TIPS 2010

DINNER, GALA MAKEUP TIPS 2010
When it comes to big events whether it is a dinner or a gala, you want to look your best. You may have the dress and the shoes all planned out, but without the right makeup you may just fade into the background. If you are planning on a big night out then there are three key things to consider when it comes to your makeup.
Lipstick
When choosing a lipstick you want something that is going to complement your outfit and your complexion. For lighter skin tones, shades of pink and berry are great, for olive skin tones the beiges and bronzes are good, and for darker skin tones red and mauves are best. If your outfit is simple then you can get a striking lipstick with a sheer or glossy finish, and if your outfit is busy, then consider a softer tone and a matte or glossy finish. Because you will be eating, drinking and socializing, ensure you invest in long lasting lipstick.
Blush
Blush is a must have in every girl’s makeup bag. It is one of the most underrated products but it can make a tremendous difference and add youth and vitality to your face, and accentuate your beautiful features. When applying blush, make sure you are using a dry brush so that it has a natural appearance. You may also want to use stains, which involves you simply putting a dot on your cheek and expanding it outwards in a circular motion.
Eyeliner & Shadow
Eyeliner is a must for any event. For a sultry look black is best, and for a pretty look white is good. You may want to play around with colors based on your eye color and outfit. Eye shadow will also depend on this, and as with lipstick, try to create a balance with what you are wearing.
QUICK EYE MAKEUP TIPS SUMMER 2010

QUICK EYE MAKEUP TIPS SUMMER 2010
It is easy to make your eyes look twice as vibrant by applying these simple tips into your daily makeup applying regiment. If you want to have a professional looking design for your eye make-up for every occasion, simply be sure to utilize the following suggestions when applying your every day make-up:
1. Using a lash curler is a simple yet effective way to make your lashes more noticeable. For the best results, use the curler before and after you apply a coat of mascara to your lashes.
2. Waterproof mascara is convenient if you get stuck in a rainstorm, but it’s extremely inconvenient when you’re trying to remove your make-up before bed. One great tip is to coat your lashes with regular mascara before putting the waterproof on. You will still get the effect of waterproof mascara, but you will be able to remove it from your lashes much more easily.
3. You can make your eye appear bigger by using a nude eyeliner on the bottom eye lid. If you want a little color, feel free to add a darker shade on the top lid.
4. If you’re used to using a one-tone eye shadow, you may want to consider upgrading to two tones. They are easy to apply and they will make it look as though a professional did your eye color for you.
5. If you really want to make your eyes pop, you might consider getting false eye lashes. These are relatively easy to apply and can make a huge difference!
THICK EYEBROWS ARE IN!

THICK EYEBROWS ARE IN!
Forget what your mother told you, pencil thin eyebrows are out! Today’s hottest look is being sported by women who can rock out with a natural, yet chic look. Now ladies, this doesn’t mean that we don’t have to tweeze our brows anymore. Actually, it’s quite the contrary. We have to be sure to tweeze our brows in a way which doesn’t compromise the original brow shape. In other words, tweeze, but don’t over-tweeze!
Eyebrows with a little bush to them are becoming increasingly popular amongst celebrities and other media figures. Additionally, there are products which are developed to enhance the look of longer brows. Many of these products include moisturizing brushes which are simply designed to give your brows a clean, just-brushed look.
In addition to being easier to maintain, heavy eyebrows will help give our look a bit more mystery. If your brow color is very dark, it will help darken your overall eye, which will make a smoky eye look extremely powerful. Essentially, dark brows give you a natural shadow which will contrast nicely with whatever eye shadow you choose to apply.
If you are light skinned, and the color of your big brows is also relatively light, you might consider bleaching them to achieve that ice-y blonde look. This can draw more attention to your eye color and eye make-up, while simultaneously making you look audaciously bold. Bleached eyebrows are becoming increasingly popular in high fashion, and can create a very strong look if utilized correctly.
HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT BLUE EYE SHADOW

HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT BLUE EYE SHADOW
I know what you’re thinking. “Bright blue eye shadow was popular in the 70’s and 80’s; nobody wears make-up like that anymore!” Well, that is simply no longer true! Not only is bright blue eye shadow fun and sassy, but it is also making a comeback! As long as you follow a few simple guidelines, you can wear bright blue eye shadow without looking a like a cartoon character. In fact, bright blues can greatly accentuate your evening look!
It is important to keep in mind what time if the day you will be wearing your shadows. Very bright eye shadow should not be worn during the daytime, as the sunlight will make it look very harsh. However, in the evening, the lowlight will help accentuate you bright eye shadow.
Additionally, you will want to wear clothes that are relatively bland, at least in color. This way, you can use your eye shadow as your one accentuating feature. If you have all kinds of colors happening all over your body, you will start to look a bit more eccentric than you may have intended.
When picking out the “right” blues for your eyes, you may want to visit a cosmetics counter at your local mall. They can help make suggestions, and may even let you try a variety of samples so that you can decide which colors you like best before making a purpose. The most important thing is to make sure that your eye shadow color compliments your personality.

NEUTRAL EYELINER FOR CELEBRITY MAKEUP STYLE
Eyeliner can be the perfect way to accentuate your eye color. For many people, however, black eyeliners can be too bold or harsh. Those who are extremely fair skinned will often look too “made-up” when they incorporate black eyeliner into their daily make-up routine. Luckily, there are many types of eyeliner which can be considered “neutral” because they are not too harsh, yet the still deliver a hint of boldness which looks subtle yet exceptional on everybody!
If you’re looking for a neutral eyeliner color, you may want to start with a light, chocolate brown. When paired with neutrally colored eye shadows, brown liner can tastefully accentuate the outline of your eye without being too over the top. Many women prefer to wear very subtle amount of make-up, and neutral eyeliners are perfect for this.
Furthermore, you can use any color of eyeliner for a neutral look as long as that color isn’t harsh or heavily contrasting with other colors in your eyes. For example, you can incorporate a very light green liner, as long as your eye shadow has shade of green within it. This works similarly with any color, including blues, browns, plums, etc.
Pastel eyeliners are also a fun and sassy option when going for a neutral look. These eyeliners come in many colors which can be utilized to match your eye shadows and wardrobe. In addition, most of them are relatively light. Therefore, you can utilize pastel colors without worrying about going “too bold” with the color of your eyeliner.
