EYE SHADOW TIP FOR WOMEN OF COLOR

EYE SHADOW TIP FOR WOMEN OF COLOR
As women of color, it can be hard to find eye shadows that work well with your skin tone as well as applying it correctly so that it looks tasteful and still natural. The truth is, however, that applying eye shadow as women of color can be much more fun and versatile than it can for Caucasian women. The right know-how and a little creativity can go a long way.
First, find out what colors look best on your skin tone. Very dark African Americans can work with just about any color under the sun and make it look good, for example. Oriental women from all nations can always do well with raisin or plum colors, as well as literally all blacks and browns. Native American skin works well with golds, silvers, and metallic hues.
After choosing a color, playing around and experimenting with your eye shadow can be one of the most rewarding experiences available to women of color in their eye makeup. Colors like vibrant bold blue and yellow that only a select few Caucasian women can pull off look fantastic on black women, while dark browns that would clash against fairer skin look great on Asian women. Try doing it – buy a few very good eye shadow brushes and several colors you think may work well with your eyes and skin tone, and just spend a while with a friend applying, removing and reapplying until you see what does and doesn’t work for you. We’re all different, but the fun we have applying and working our makeup doesn’t have to be.
